What Is This?

I started this blog 25 years ago. I was old: 50; but I had an interesting perspective on gay life. You see, I didn’t come out until I was 40, and that was at the height of the AIDs crisis, so I didn’t get to experience the wild permissiveness most gay men experience when they are much younger. Me, in no particular order:
  • I had a big corporate career and then my own consulting business
  • I was a California State Certified HIV Counselor, worked at The Center in Long Beach helping testers manage their relief at getting a negative result and their terror when getting a positive.
  • I was married to a woman for ten years. We had a lot of fun.
  • I did eventually have a promiscuous period, and it was awesome!
  • I’m on my third same sex, living together relationship.
  • The most recent one is an actual marriage and we will have our 10 year anniversary this year.
  • And yes, we are still very much in love.
  • I’ve lived in Philly, Jax, Atl, Long Beach, San Diego, Las Vegas and now, Keller, Texas.
  • I loved SD and LV!
  • I’m a Padres fan.
  • I am an artist.
  • I care.
I’m doing this mostly for me. I’m starting to be forgetful and that’s on top of having a memory with great holes. I want to re-read all of this, edit it and post as a way of remembering. If you find yourself digging in here, I salute you! And wish you all the goodness of a warm peach cobbler on a chilly winters night. I was not very conscientious with this blog, having gone sometimes going months, even years between posts. And a lot of what I wrote is crap; you won’t be seeing that. But I’m going to go back and pull out the most interesting posts from the past and repost them here.
